cooperative artist: Kevin O'Brien

pet portraits, oil paintings, pet renderings, dog portraits, cat portraits, horse portraits, western landscape paintings, pet paintings, pet charcoal drawings, pet pastel drawings, wildlife scratchboards, and more!

Chicago area artist, Kevin O'Brien readily followed his dreams of moving West to live near the passionate, splendid vistas which inspired him as a vacationing youngster.

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Education from North Central College, a private Liberal Arts College in Naperville, Illinois, Kevin relocated to the high plains of Colorado. Now living in Saratoga, Wyoming, Kevin continues his art career.

Kevin strives for a detailed study of his subject, usually a species of wildlife, western landscape, or a figure. Whether working in watercolors, pastels, acrylics, or scratchboard, Kevin brings the medium to life.

"There are many unnoticed and undiscovered corners of our natural world that appear as plain, ordinary scenes to the casual observer. Once in a while something happens to that scene that causes it to impart a memorable mood to the viewer. This mood may be created by a change in light, weather, the seasons, or even a creature of the wild. Sometimes man can aid in the creation of these magnificent corners of our world. It is my desire to call attention to the magical moments of beauty that can occur anywhere and everywhere."
