Decorative ceramic tile for unlimited possibilities
Diane
has been working with clay for approximately 25 years and is an advocate of
functional art. "People need to think out of the box—nothing in nature is
square. Why should ceramic tile always be square?"
Diane not only
uses her unusual handmade tile in her artwork, but found art such as bottle
caps, buttons, beach stones, glass, beads, and other tidbits, such as anthill
gravel in her grout, to pull together an idea for her artwork.
"I don't
believe that we should limit ourselves to what the ceramic tile industry says is
"in" this year, because next year it's out of style."
An
important aspect of Diane's ceramic tile art is the emphasis she uses to pull
the outdoors—indoors. "There is so much beauty in nature. I always feel
my best there and it really adds a lot of pleasure to a living experience to be
able to enjoy the feeling of being outside all year around—not just when the
weather permits."
Diane, a Saratoga, Wyoming resident and has her art
scattered throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, in various
applications. It can be viewed by clicking Tiles
with Style, or by clicking the pictures below.
Diane has been
featured in the Wyoming Homes and Living Magazine, Links Magazine, Poughkeepsie
Journal, and various newspapers.
"It's no longer hip to
be square."
